RESPONSE: The problems did not occur until the sealant was done at their recommendation approximately one week later. The problems with the asphalt did not occur until the sealant was done.

It was NOT a very little sprayed dust and B and J never came back out to look at it so how would they know. The fence is less than 3 years old, I have the receipts to prove it , and we had no intention of taking it down.

We were happy with the paver work with the intention that they were coming back to add sand. I paid for the paver delivery which was reduced from the contract price. However, there was an abundance of pavers left over and they were going to come do an additional small job (not a fire pit) with them while fixing the other issues.

We contacted the company 2 days after the sealant was done because you said we could drive on it after 24 hours. If necessary, I have all of the phone records and text messages.

The one and only day we said would not work for the company to come out to do the repairs was after months of going around and around and we were having company on the day they were allegedly going to come. I was not cancelling my plans because I knew they would not show up, as was the case for the months of scheduling and no shows or last minute cancelations. I have a text message stating you would be out the following Saturday, and you once again did not show.

If there is no damage by this company, then provide insurance information and let the insurance company decide. I made 3 requests for insurance information after months of attempts to get this situation resolved.

UPDATE: On May 17, 2024, B and J Asphalt ("B and J") put asphalt down on our large driveway and parking area. At their request, I wrote a stellar review. Also at his request, I did not mention the sealant for the driveway that he was promoting and said was amazing and it can be done one week after the initial driveway asphalt. He said that reviewers would "be confused" by the sealant being done so soon.

One week after writing the below review, On May 29, 2024, against our better judgment, Ben from B and J talked us into sealing the NEW asphalt. He said it would look like "glass." When the sealant was being sprayed, the employees sprayed 6" up onto our privacy fence. After B and J sealed the driveway, we were told we could drive on it 24 hours later. We drove on it more than 48 hours later and it created marks and divots.

On the same day as the driveway sealant was done the same company installed some patio pavers without enough fill sand and also damaged the side of the garage door with their tools. He also ordered way too many pavers, which he had me pay for upon delivery, so I am stuck with about 50 extra pavers.

B and J was paid in full in cash on May 29, 2024. Ben from B and J said all of this was "no problem to fix" and he would be back to fix the fence, add sand to the pavers and fix the driveway sealant. TO DATE, HE HAS NEVER RETURNED TO COMPLETE THE PROMISED WORK. He has made numerous promises to come repair the damages and use up the extra pavers on an additional small job, which we would pay for the labor, and has never shown up. The excuses and no shows range from family emergencies, illness and hospitalization.

I requested three times for B and J's insurance information to make a claim for the repairs, all of which were ignored.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

One word…amazing! From start to finish this company is top notch. This paving project was initially on the very long list of projects to eventually tackle.

Ben from B and J Asphalt knocked on our door to inquire if we would be interested in paving our very long driveway and parking area. He gave us such a great price that the project instantly shot to the top of the list.

Ben and his crew arrived on time, were professional and courteous. The whole crew worked so hard to make this paving project perfect.

We are so excited to have them back to our home next week for our patio paver project!

UPDATE: We are thankful to Lisa at B&J Asphalt for reaching out and discussing our outstanding issues. They have also begun paying us back for the damage caused and they are working to make amends. We understand mistakes happen, and are very appreciative that Lisa is being accountable and communicative. We look forward to resolving in a civil manner.

Requested a quote to have our brick front painted. Lisa called and sent her son Josh over to provide a quote and we agreed to move forward. We specifically asked for a light gray Sherwin Williams paint to be used. Josh and his crew came on a Saturday and did not finish until it was almost dark. The next morning we discovered there was spray paint all over our new siding and roof, as well as lighting fixtures, outdoor spicket and main sprinkler lines. We called Josh to come alleviate the issues and while some issues were resolved, there is still significant discoloration on our siding and paint on our roof.

We also discovered that Josh did not use the paint we asked for even though he told us he only buys paint from Sherwin Williams paint store. He sent us paint card samples from Sherwin Williams. He bought and used a cheaper paint and denied it when I asked, even though we have the cap and bucket at our home. For weeks, we tried calling multiple people at B&J Asphalt and multiple phone numbers at the company to come fix the damage but got nothing but no response or empty promises. In the few times we actually spoke with Josh, he was very unprofessional and rude, said he was too busy, and actually yelled at my wife for calling the company business line. We tried as hard as we could to resolve in a civil manner.
With no other option, we decided to take them to court, submit all our evidence, and they did not show up (I called and emailed them multiple times to let them know we had a court case in addition to the communication from the courthouse that was sent). I reached out to inform them that they missed the court date, that we now have a judgement against them, and Josh called me and said “Yeah, we don’t do courts” and hung up on me.
Tried to work things out in a civil manner to collect the money owed, and in speaking with them, was also told “We don’t really paint houses.” I don’t understand why they would call me and come to my house telling me they do so, to later tell me that they are not qualified to do what they said they can. Just blatantly dishonest. When trying to set up a fair payment plan for the money the court stated we are owed, I was promised money would be sent but it never is. No accountability or professionalism on their end.
After months of aggravation, we had to hire an attorney to try to receive reparations for the damages done to our house by B&J Asphalt on top of the dishonest, low quality of work they did at my home. Getting work done to your house should be a positive experience for a homeowner.

Benjamin and his team are outstanding. 5 stars. A+ and extra credit! Professional, polite, everyone knew his job and worked seamlessly. And fast. They had the old driveway out, prepared the new bed, laid the new asphalt, and cleaned up in what seemed to be no time at all.
Also, I did my research! I got four estimates. Go ahead and do the same. It's not just about price. It's about everything. Communication, details, guarantee, quality. With B&J, it's all there. Several of our neighbors are discussing new driveways, resealing their drives, and they too are so impressed at the speed and ease that our work was done, I have no doubt they'll be hiring Benjamin and his team.
