We have been working with Lorraine and her assistant Melissa for about 4 years now. They are wonderful!! Our son has autism and dsylexia. He has a very complex profile. Lorraine has been a big part of our son’s life. She is a part of the family now! She has helped him to receive one on one services in reading, speech and writing. She also helps to advocate for accommodations he may need along with selecting the best classes for him. He has come a long way and we could have not done it without Lorraine. She is very professional and is always there to help us navigate the long and sometimes complicated IEP meetings. Melissa is always there to help with scheduling and answer any questions you may have if you can’t reach Lorraine. She is another big part of our son’s life. We can’t say enough about both of them. We recently complete two years of working with Lorraine and her team. She has successfully helped us advocate for our child who has a complex educational profile. I can’t say enough good things about Lorraine and her team. Lorraine is incredibly knowledgeable about the IEP process, dyslexia services and resources, and she is a consummate professional. Before Lorraine’s assistance, my husband and I struggled to get an IEP meeting with the school. With Lorraine’s help, we got the school to hold multiple IEP meetings with us, and our child’s IEP is more comprehensive today than prior to Lorraine’s help. Lorraine also helped us secure reimbursement for thousands of dollars owed to us by the school district for services we paid out of pocket since the school district failed our child for multiple years. Hiring Lorraine was money well spent, and I’d recommend her to anyone!

Lorraine Hightower is amazing and I can’t imagine navigating the school system without her. As parents, we don’t know the terminology used, various accommodations available, laws/regulations/policies in place, score result meaning, testing available, and guidelines to help understand it all and ensure our children are getting what they need to receive the same education as every other child. Lorraine not only identified tests the school didn’t administer, she also informed the school they were using outdated guidelines, and in my opinion always training the school team. My daughter was found ineligible until I hired Lorraine. I know feel confident that my daughter has a plan in place for all her needs. I went from being overwhelmed, scared, feeling hopeless for my child to feeling like I had the very best person on my daughters team and confident her IEP would reflect that. It has not been an easy journey with the school, but having Lorraine lifted all the pressure and the stress off my shoulders. I 100% trust Lorraine and I know she has the best interest of my daughter in mind. There is no way we would be as far as we are without her, and with a child with learning disabilities, time is critical to get them support as early as possible.

We would not use anyone else. We started working with her at the start of 4th grade. She knows what our kids need in order to level the playing field. Lorraine got our son the IEP and interventions he needed to succeed. She taught us how to advocate successfully for him. See the data first. Our son earned straight A’s in seventh grade. First quarter of 8th grade again straight A’s. It is a battle but Lorraine taught us to keep advocating for him. We are forever grateful for her help!

Lorraine Hightower has helped us with 2 of our 3 dyslexic children. Previously with out an advocate, our children were not given the support they needed. We are very happy we found Lorraine.
