I have been using MAC for years, however my experience yesterday at the MAC in Macy's Dulles literally drove me to shop Sephora which I will be now switching all my business to. I went to the MAC in Macy's to get a foundation recommendation and recommendations for a full face of makeup as I was out of several items and was wanting to switch things up. When I walked in, there were only 2 makeup artists who were trying to help customers at the same time as they were doing appointments. I waited for a while to be helped, but when a makeup artist finally came over she asked myself & a customer who had come in after I did what we needed. Although I told her that I had been waiting longer and she acknowledged what I said, she then literally ignored me & proceeded to help the other customer. When she finally did get to me, she was clearly rushing & apologizing to the person sitting in her chair. I decided that getting anything other than a foundation recommendation was clearly not going to happen, and that I would just be buying the same items I had been using for years - no new stuff for me. She quickly did a foundation match. I needed to restock several items, which she found. At that point, she told me that they were out of the foundation she had recommended, but that she would give me a sample and order some for me. She indicated a huge stack of shipping boxes and said "it might be in there, as we have been out of it for a long time." WHAT? It was clear that she was not going to check on that though. She totaled up my order, gave me a sample, but made absolutely no attempt to order the foundation for me. I then went to Sephora, and although their customer service was non-existent and literally no one offered to help, at least the makeup was accessible so I could try it out before I bought it. I bought a full face of makeup (which was less than half the cost of MAC) and will be returning the items I did manage to buy at MAC. If this MAC location is this busy, they need to add employees to give any semblance of customer service. MAC is not cheap, and being disregarded, rushed & ultimately leaving without even ordering the foundation that I had ultimately come in for is unacceptable. Shop elsewhere, it's not worth the frustration. I will not be back.

After trying to find the right foundation and someone to help me I finally walked away with no success. The girls were too busy talking and looking at their phones. I miss the MAC counter at Nordstrom. This mall is failing fast and staff like this doesn’t help

This store is very very good. All girls are helpful & patience. Such a nice behavior. Specially Sofia. She was briefly describing me about products & how can I use it. Really appreciate her job.

Went to the MAC counter after spending some time in the Sephora where only one girl was working on a weekend. No thanks. Got a perfect match & exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!!

i dont like how they smell. the customer service was very nice and the variety of smells they offer are great.
